She’s Gone

That grin she had, those tricks she played,
That cheeky smile, that deep dark gaze.
Little thinker, partner in crime,
Little leader, covered in grime.
Tiny face with tiny hands,
Tiny games and tiny plans.
I lost her. She’s left me, was torn away.
That little girl’s gone, she couldn’t stay.
She’s scared and she’s sad, she’s angry and fierce.
She’s a runner, a fighter, too strong for tears.
Someday she’ll come back. Re-enter the world.
But she’ll never be the same. She’s gone, that girl.
