Art & Psychology

I am passionate about public engagement in science, and in particular mental health. I aim to work to close the gap in the interface between the arts and the sciences. I intend to develop this section as a place to talk about the work I am doing to promote this link up (something I feel is vital to destigmatisation and a better understanding of mental health).

So far, I have been involved in the research and development process of an award winning show ‘Hysterical’ by up and coming playwright Karis E. Halsall of Luminary Theatre, produced in collaboration with the outstanding and also award winning HOAX theatre company and directed by the wonderful Stephen Sobal of All in Theatre. I have written more about this process as part of the art & science section of this site.

I have also been involved in an arts and wellbeing festival called Stories of Being, hosted by Platform Southwark. This was a fantastic venture, bringing together together artists, theatre makers, mental health professionals and people who were simply curious (which was wonderful).

We hope to take this further, creating a network of likeminded people and making Stories of Being a regular event. So watch this space and get in touch!
